In Baldur's Gate 3, players have remarkable freedom, enabling them to consume foods marked as poisonous or leap off perilously high cliffs. Allowing fans to make both good and bad decisions is an integral part of the game. While certain choices may initially seem unfavorable, like dashing through illusory walls, they often yield significant rewards. For example, Auntie Ethel's home in the Sunlit Wetlands presents players with a precarious well that emanates a putrid odor of corpses, yet they can choose to take a daring sip from it, if they dare.
Drinking Out Of The Well
Consequences and Unknowable Details in the Game: A Revelation for Role-Playing Enthusiasts! Before and after confronting Auntie Ethel: Well gives a +10 health point buff
When confronting Auntie Ethel, the well grants a poison and psychic debuff. Moreover, it provides a +10 health point boost to anyone who drinks from it until they take a long rest. Therefore, drinking from the well should be treated as a daily ritual for all party members, especially those anticipating combat. Additionally, remember to have new party members also drink from the well before joining a fight.
There is a major drawback to this situation. Auntie Ethel poses a significant challenge in the game, even for players who have teamed up with their friends. This enhancement, instead of being beneficial, turns into a serious disadvantage when confronting her. However, once players successfully defeat her, the condition of the well improves significantly (even the unpleasant smell disappears), allowing regular visits.
Baldur's Gate 3 is currently accessible on PC. The PlayStation 5 edition will be released on September 6th, 2023. The development of an Xbox Series X/S version is still in progress.
