Interactions with allies are highly valued in RPGs, including Baldur's Gate 3. Developing friendships and forging connections can lead to significant developments in the storyline or result in the addition of companion characters. However, even smaller moments can be memorable, such as the encounter with Timber, the agitated squirrel. By handling the interaction delicately, players can establish mutual respect between themselves and Timber.

Study the creature's behavior (pass a Nature check).
Reprimand her by making a disapproving sound with your tongue (pass an Animal Handling check).
While it is necessary for players to earn her respect, physically harming Timber results in her demise. She will be forcefully thrown into a tree and if Astarion is present in the group, he will remark on Timber being completely shattered. The dialogue is amusing, so players who wish to get rid of Timber should rearrange their party to include Astarion first. However, this results in unfortunate consequences for the hapless Timber.
Have someone proficient in Nature and Animal Handling checks handle Timber as these checks will be consecutive. Once the first check is successfully completed, the character can attempt to Intimidate Timber, but it is important to note that this will not lead to a friendly relationship.
When playing with friends, one of them can take charge of these tasks. The second confirmation may seem unfriendly, but it's simply a way to ensure that both the player and Timber communicate and share the space effectively. After a salute from Timber, the character and the squirrel become companions.
