To begin this side quest, proceed past the Blighted Village and either traverse the bridge adjacent to the barn or cross the stream below. Along the way, players will come across dilapidated cargo wagons, accompanied by some Bloated Hyenas positioned in the center of the path. Disregard these obstacles and silently approach the hillside, where a group of gnolls can be observed devouring villagers. Dispatch them swiftly, and proceed to follow the trail of blood and paw prints leading to a larger group of gnolls, as well as two individuals trapped within a cave.

The gnolls in this area are minimum Level 4, while the Warlord named Flind is Level 5. Players have the option to either forcefully fight their way through the horde or utilize the Mind Flayer parasite to manipulate Flind into turning against her allies. Another possibility is to convince Flind and her gnolls to attack the two individuals in the cave, resulting in them getting injured and weakening them for the player's party. To initiate this situation, refrain from killing Flind for one round. The divergence of the quest begins after the outcome of this battle.
