Features of the Githyanki Race
To handle the Inquisitor's minions effectively, players should prioritize eliminating the Raider first. This specific adversary possesses a highly potent single-target damaging ability that can swiftly eliminate certain characters within a single turn. It is crucial to divert the attention of the Warrior through the tank's commando technique. Subsequently, the team must swiftly attend to the ranged attackers before they manage to harm any of the party members.
Players should also be mindful of the racial features possessed by the Githyanki Inquisitor and their minions while engaged in combat. One important feature to note is their resistance to mental effects and spells. An example of this is the Githyanki Parry, wherein unarmed or weapon attacks result in reduced damage by 10. To effectively counter this ability, gamers will need to focus all attacks from their companions with Extra Attack towards a Githyanki who has already utilized this measure in their turn.
Furthermore, the Githyanki possess the ability termed Psionic Revenge. This allows them to inflict 1d4 psychic damage on anyone who attacks them successfully after making a Saving Throw. Additionally, this ability grants the Githyanki a +1 bonus to all mental Saving Throws which include Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma.
The Githyanki Inquisitor Fight
The Mindsteal Link ability of the Inquisitor poses a major challenge. With this ability, W'wargaz can establish a connection with all nearby creatures, granting him an additional +1 Armor Class for each linked creature and simultaneously reducing the Armor Class of these creatures by 2.
Additionally, possessing this power grants the Inquisitor the ability to inflict 1d4 psychic damage upon each individual in their vicinity. It also renders all those connected to the Inquisitor susceptible to psychic damage. To diminish the strength of the Mindsteal Link, players should refrain from including Ranger, Warlock familiars, Guardian of Faith, and Necromancers as companions, as they provide additional Armor Class that W'wargaz can utilize. To sever each Mindsteal Link connection, players must either eliminate the Githyanki bound to the Inquisitor or inflict damage upon it through a connected companion.
Baldur's Gate 3 is currently available on PC and PS5. An Xbox Series X/S version is currently being developed.
