Baldur's Gate 3 is an expansive game filled with numerous hidden items and secrets. To progress through Act 2 with minimal missed opportunities, players must make two trips to Moonrise Towers. The first visit involves rescuing Tiefling and Gnome prisoners, while the second visit entails eliminating Ketheric Thorm.
On the initial visit, players have the opportunity to enter Balthazar's chambers and acquire a Moonlantern. However, the room holds much more than just that. Within, players will discover scrolls, books, and even a hidden room containing valuable treasures.
How to Get into Balthazar's Rooms in Baldur's Gate 3
If the main character's avatar assumes the identity of a True Soul to infiltrate Moonrise Towers in order to save or eliminate Nightsong, they have the opportunity to thoroughly explore the tower. This includes freeing imprisoned Tieflings, acquiring valuable items, and even investigating the rooms belonging to Thorm and others. While navigating the main floor, a orc named Z'rell and Thorm will instruct the player to either exterminate or spare a few goblins who served under Minthara. Once this task is completed, the player will encounter Z'rell again on the upper floor.
Z'rell will then command the player to venture outside in search of Balthazar, an undead individual responsible for escorting Nightsong back to Thorm. However, Balthazar has not been heard from or seen in some time. To locate Balthazar, Z'rell will require the player's character to retrieve the Lantern from his chambers. It is worth mentioning that the rooms contain more than just a pixie light source; there is an additional concealed chamber as well as an access point leading to Ketheric Thorm's quarters.

When facing the bookshelves, players of Baldur's Gate 3 will come across four books that protrude out. Out of these, one book will initiate the opening process, while the other three books will release a poisonous gas that engulfs the protagonist. It is crucial for players to select the protruding book located in the upper right-hand corner. Following this, they should interact with one of the bodies lying on the floor in Balthazar's rooms and acquire a heart.
The bookshelf on the right side features an interactive pedestal, adjacent to it. Players have the ability to place an item on this pedestal. Specifically, if a heart is placed on the pedestal, the bookshelf will gracefully open, granting access to the concealed secrets contained within.
Inside, there are also notes about the Nightsong, along with a fascinating hat, a potion, and several miscellaneous items that players can likely sell for a small amount of gold.
PC users can now enjoy Baldur's Gate 3, while the release of the PlayStation 5 version is scheduled for September 6th.
