Baldur's Gate 3: Mastering the Art of Wardrobe - Unveiling Fashion & Concealing Helmets

Discover the art of personalization in Baldur's Gate 3 as players delve into the immersive roleplaying world, allowing them to effortlessly adapt their character's appearance and create a unique style

Although Baldur's Gate 3 lacks a true transmog feature, players may feel disappointed when they realize they cannot wear heavy armor that resembles a nightgown. While this omission may seem like an oversight, allowing players to break their own immersion may not be advisable.

Nevertheless, players still have access to certain customization options in Baldur's Gate 3. By keeping different sets of clothing for different situations, they can create personalized cutscenes. Embracing these styles adds an enjoyable element to the exploration of the game's universe.

How To Change Clothes

In the inventory menu, click on the button located above the helmet to change its state (Hide Helmet, Show Helmet, Hide During Dialogues).

In the inventory menu, click on the button above the camp outfit to toggle the visibility of the armor set (Default, Camp).

These clothing options are not limited to the main character alone. Explore different options for the entire party by switching between party members and adjusting their clothing and helmets until they look just right. In case either set appears undesirable, players have the option to switch to an alternative armor set or even go without clothing, appearing only in their underwear. However, please note that although players may choose to fight in their camp clothes, their armor statistics will remain unchanged; only the appearance will be affected.

Players have the freedom to do this at their convenience. They can leave the camp and adjust these options anytime outside of a cutscene. If players anticipate a cutscene and prefer to appear either combat-ready or casual for the cinematic, they are encouraged to switch to their desired choice. Additionally, helmets have a unique third toggle option, allowing players to have it visible during combat but hidden during dialogues if they wish.

Baldur's Gate 3 is currently accessible on PC. The PlayStation 5 version will be released on September 6th, 2023. An Xbox Series X/S version is currently being developed.
