Baldur's Gate 3 is an expansive and immersive game with a vast open-world. Within this world, players can explore multiple levels and uncover hidden secrets. While there is a map available to prevent players from getting lost, there will still be challenging events and obstacles between destinations.
To enhance navigation and ensure important locations are not forgotten, players can utilize custom markers in Baldur's Gate 3. By setting these markers, players can easily navigate from one place to another and also keep track of significant spots. This feature proves invaluable as the quest log becomes filled with numerous directions that may not be in close proximity. Placing custom markers not only guides players on where to go but also when to visit certain areas.
How To Place Custom Markers
On PC: Open the map and use the left-click button to place a custom marker.
On PlayStation 5: Open the map and use the square button to place a custom marker.
On Xbox Series X/S, players can open the map and utilize the X button to position a personalized marker. One notable feature of custom markers in Baldur's Gate 3 is the ability for players to assign names to their markers once they are placed. This proves advantageous when players require markers for particular quests or treasures, as they can label them accordingly and ensure a prompt return by visiting the base and subsequently leaving the camp again.
In addition to being an upgrade from most games, these points have the advantage of having no single marker limit. If there are twenty locations that players want to remember, they can mark each one of them with a different marker on the map. While exploring, players can mark locked chests and then, when ready, switch party members to let the Rogue unlock them. If players become encumbered, they can drop heavy items and place a marker to easily retrieve them later.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available now for PC. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X/S is still in development.
