Baldur's Gate 3 Hotfix Allows Players to Utilize Essential Quest Items from Camp

Baldur's Gate 3 Hotfix #16 enables players to utilize essential items for quests, even if they are located back at the camp Expect further improvements for Xbox save issues on the firmware side Full patch notes cover various areas including crashes, combat, gameplay, performance, UI, level design, art, animation, sound, and writing

The most recent hotfix for Baldur's Gate 3 now allows players to access quest-critical items from anywhere, even if they are not in the inventory of any current party members. Certain items will always be available during their relevant quests, whether they are in the party's inventory, held by a companion elsewhere, or stored in a camp chest.

A fix for Xbox save issues is also on the way. Since the release of Xbox Series X, players have experienced occasional loss of save games. Director Swen Vincke addressed the issue on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Got good news from Xbox- they found the firmware issue that could cause save games to go missing and a fix is incoming." The timing for when the fix will go live was not specified.

The hotfix has been implemented to prevent modded saves from syncing to consoles, as the console versions are unable to access modded content for obvious reasons. Additionally, the patch introduces more categories to the waypoint list, grouping them by location. Furthermore, a visual bug that caused lower resolution textures to appear on longer save files has also been addressed.

In other Baldur's Gate 3 news, Xbox has decided to reverse bans related to the recording of explicit clips from the game.
