However, it is not surprising that fans are eager to experience even more content from one of the biggest titles of the summer. Despite not yet being available on consoles, the developers of Baldur's Gate 3 are already engaging in discussions about downloadable content (DLC). Nevertheless, there seems to be a controversy surrounding whether Larian Studios, the game's publisher and developer, removed significant amounts of content just prior to its release.

In an interview with IGN, Baldur's Gate 3 director Swen Vincke dismissed claims made by dataminers that significant portions of the game were removed before its launch, referring to the information obtained through datamining as "misleading." Vincke clarified that although they did not eliminate "large swaths" of the game, there were indeed minor elements that were trimmed as part of the game's refinement process.

Dataminers discovered that significant portions of the Upper City were removed just a few weeks before the game's launch. While Vincke's explanation seems reasonable, it's understandable why players would be disappointed to see any content removed from one of the best modern-day CPRGs.

Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews of Baldur's Gate 3, it's not surprising that fans are eager for even more content. Vincke, in fact, considered this desire for additional content as a compliment. Nevertheless, considering the extensive amount of content already included in Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Studios, it's difficult to imagine anyone feeling unsatisfied with their purchase.

Additionally, the team is diligently working to ready themselves for the upcoming release of next-gen consoles later this year, alongside an expansive update for Baldur's Gate 3, which the studio recently hinted at. Regardless of the outcome, it seems that fans will have an abundance of content to enjoy in the coming months.

Currently available on PC, Baldur's Gate 3 is set to release a version for PS5 on September 6, with an anticipated launch of an Xbox Series X/S version in late 2023.
