Larian Studio's Michael Douse teased on Twitter that future updates for Baldur's Gate 3 may not only fix bugs but also bring in new features, including the option to modify a character's appearance.
A recent tease implies that fans of Baldur's Gate 3 will have the ability to modify their character's appearance in the future. Since its release, Baldur's Gate 3 has received widespread acclaim, becoming not only the highest-rated new game of 2023 so far, but also the highest-rated PC game of all time. It is undeniable that Baldur's Gate 3 has been a massive success, surpassing expectations in numerous ways.
Despite receiving rave reviews from both fans and critics, Baldur's Gate 3 is not without flaws. Larian has already addressed some lingering issues through hotfixes, but there are still bugs that need to be resolved. It is likely that future updates will not only address these significant issues but also potentially introduce new features.
Fans have been eagerly requesting the ability to alter their character's appearance in Baldur's Gate 3. As of now, players are unable to make permanent changes to their character's appearance after the initial creation screen. However, there are indications that this feature may be introduced in a future update. Michael Douse from Larian recently hinted at the possibility of allowing players to modify their character's appearance in a tweet, stating that things are currently in progress. While this isn't a definitive confirmation, it seems likely that players can anticipate this feature in a future update.
In addition to the desire for character customization, there is another issue that many Baldur's Gate 3 fans would like to see addressed. Although the co-op restrictions in the game are understandable from a gameplay perspective, some fans are dissatisfied with the fact that joining a co-op game makes their character permanently associated with that particular save file. It remains unclear whether this aspect will be altered or not, but Larian has demonstrated a willingness to listen to fan feedback and make necessary adjustments to the game.
Despite the lack of response to these complaints, Baldur's Gate 3 would still remain an immensely popular game. The game has consistently achieved remarkable player counts on Steam and its exceptional review scores are evidence of its success.
Currently available on PC, Baldur's Gate 3 will also be released for PS5 on September 6, and there are plans for an Xbox version in the works.
