Austen Kroll and Lindsay Hubbard have finally made progress in their relationship after being distant for years.
"We are going to start a new kind of friendship, one that has boundaries - friendship being the key word," the 36-year-old star of Southern Charm revealed exclusively to us at BravoCon on Friday, November 3. "And that's how I would like to keep it. I'm sure she feels the same, considering all that she has going on."
Lindsay, 37, and Austen, who had been close off-screen for years, both appeared on Winter House season 1 in 2021. While filming the Summer House spinoff in Vermont, Lindsay was open to exploring a possible romance with Austen. However, Austen was solely focused on Ciara Miller, a sentiment he expressed during an interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. Upset by this, Lindsay made the decision to pause their bond and blocked Austen from her social media accounts.
During an episode of the "Reality Life with Kate Casey" podcast in November 2021, Lindsay expressed her feelings about the situation, stating that she couldn't accept having someone like Austen in her life. She emphasized the importance of reciprocated friendship and explained that after almost four years of friendship, she didn't feel the need to teach a 34-year-old man how to be a good friend to her.
After parting ways following their time at Winter House, Lindsay and Austen ventured into new relationships. In August 2022, Lindsay became engaged to Carl Radke, while Austen kindled a romance with Olivia Flowers. (However, both couples have since ended their relationships, with Carl, aged 38, breaking up with Lindsay three months prior to their scheduled November wedding.)
With their newfound single status, Lindsay and Austen recently rekindled their friendship during a reunion in New York City.
“We haven’t had the opportunity to communicate and engage in a meaningful conversation for quite some time,” Austen revealed in an interview with Us on Friday. “The reason behind this is simply growth. She discovered a connection with Carl and was focused on exploring that, while I needed to embark on my own journey. It made sense for us to temporarily refrain from communication during this phase.”

Austen further disclosed that Lindsay was the one who initiated their meeting in New York City. "She reached out and asked if I was coming to New York," he recalled. "Meeting up with her was a pleasant experience. We had a nice conversation."
Meanwhile, Lindsay and Carl reunited on stage during the Summer House panel on Friday. This came after she exclusively revealed to Us that she was caught off guard by their sudden breakup.
Lindsay disclosed that they rarely communicate, only when he needs to retrieve belongings from the apartment. She admitted feeling anxious and trembling.
