Aubrey O'Day, former member of Danity Kane, expressed her opinion on the settlement of Cassie's rape and assault lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs. Sharing a New York Times article on her Instagram Story on November 17, the 39-year-old singer wrote, "Money is valued more than accountability, always. This settlement news only reaffirms that the system is firmly established."

On Friday, it was confirmed that Cassie, aged 37, and Diddy, aged 54, had come to an agreement in their legal dispute, only one day after the lawsuit was filed.

Cassie, also known as Casandra Ventura, stated through her attorney Douglas Wigdor that she has chosen to resolve the matter amicably with some level of control. In a statement sent to Us, she expressed gratitude to her family, fans, and legal team for their unwavering support.

Diddy issued a statement on Friday night, expressing his intention to peacefully resolve the matter. In the statement shared with Us, he wished Cassie and her family well and signed off with his affectionate nickname, "Love."

Cassie, who had an on-and-off relationship with Diddy from 2007 to 2018, included the music mogul as a defendant in a lawsuit filed on November 16. According to court documents obtained by Us, Cassie alleged that Diddy had subjected her to rape and prolonged physical abuse for almost ten years. Diddy vehemently denied all allegations.

"Diddy's lawyer, Ben Brafman, strongly denies these offensive and outrageous allegations," stated in a release. "Over the past six months, Mr. Combs has faced ongoing demands from Ms. Ventura for $30 million, using the threat of writing a damaging tell-all book about their relationship. This attempted blackmail was unequivocally rejected. Despite retracting her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now chosen to escalate the situation by filing a lawsuit filled with baseless and outrageous lies in an attempt to tarnish Mr. Combs's reputation and secure a financial gain."

O'Day actively stood in support of Cassie as she came forward.

O'Day initially crossed paths with Diddy when she tried out for his MTV show Making the Band 3, leading to the formation of Danity Kane alongside Dawn Richard, Shannon Bex, D. Woods, and Aundrea Fimbres. Although the girl group was signed to Diddy's record label Bad Boy Records, he decided to remove O'Day from the group in 2008. At that time, Diddy insisted that there were no ill feelings between them.

In a later episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast in 2022, O'Day made allegations that she was fired because she refused to comply with expectations that extended beyond her talent. (Diddy did not address these claims when they were made.)

She expressed her thoughts on the settlement through X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, November 18. O'Day speculated about the extent of Diddy's power and control over others, stating that he demonstrated the level of his power by ruthlessly suppressing those who dared to stand up.
