Aubrey O’Day said that Sean “Diddy” Combs attempted to silence her by offering her publishing rights on Bad Boy Records.
In a preview of the documentary TMZ Presents: The Downfall of Diddy, set to premiere on Tubi on Sunday, April 28, O’Day, 40, revealed, “I received the publishing deal. I know what it says and how much money it was giving me.”
The former Danity Kane member said she was promised $300.30 in exchange for dropping all claims against Diddy and others.
As for Diddy's intentions, O'Day suggested he was trying to silence people by offering money.
When O'Day reviewed the publishing deal, she felt that it did not ensure her financial well-being. Instead, it seemed to restrict her from sharing her story and experiences. The agreement even demanded her silence and forbade her from speaking negatively about others. This raised red flags for O'Day, signaling that something was amiss.
A source close to Diddy, aged 54, who is familiar with the situation, disputed O'Day's assertion that everyone involved signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). According to the insider, last year, Diddy transferred his share of the publishing rights to Bad Boy artists, a move that was considered groundbreaking in the industry. However, not all artists signed an NDA as O'Day claimed, challenging the accuracy of her statement.

In September 2023, Diddy made the decision to return the publishing rights of Bad Boy Records to the artists and writers. In an interview with Variety, Diddy stated, “It’s simply the right thing to do. I believe that as an industry and as individuals, we must reflect on our actions and strive for progress. It’s about growth, setting a positive example, and revitalizing an industry that is in need of change, in a world that is in need of transformation.”
The documentary was filmed after Homeland Security raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami.
Homeland Security shared in a statement to Us in March that they conducted law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from their teams in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and local law enforcement partners. They mentioned that more information will be provided as it becomes available.
After news of the raids emerged, many reports suggested that they were linked to a federal sex trafficking investigation. Diddy's lawyer, Aaron Dyer, argued that law enforcement used excessive force similar to military tactics.
In a statement released in March, Dyer criticized the authorities for their aggressive behavior towards Diddy's children and employees. He described the raids as an "unprecedented ambush" accompanied by a coordinated media presence, leading to a rushed judgment of Mr. Combs. Dyer claimed that the raids were based on unfounded accusations from civil lawsuits, branding them as a witch hunt.
Diddy has been accused of sexual assault by multiple individuals since November 2023, but he has denied these allegations. The statement concluded that there has been no criminal or civil liability found, and Mr. Combs maintains his innocence and will continue to fight to clear his name every day.
