Atiana Allegedly Ignored by Father Oscar De La Hoya until the Age of 16, Claims Shanna Moakler

Shanna Moakler shares about her breakup with Oscar De La Hoya, recalling how they handled custody of daughter Atiana. According to Moakler, De La Hoya threatened not to see her or their daughter until she was 16 if she sued him for palimony. Moakler asserted that she had no choice but to take legal action, and ended up winning the case.
Moakler began dating De La Hoya in 1997, and the couple became engaged the following year. Their daughter, Atiana, was born in 1999, just before they ended their relationship.
"He didn't meet our daughter and me until she was around 16. She didn't have a relationship with her father while growing up," Moakler revealed. "But they have reconciled. He has apologized and made amends with me."
In his documentary "The Golden Boy" released in July 2023, Atiana openly discussed her father's estrangement, recounting how she only saw him about once a year. She recalled a specific memory from fourth grade when they were supposed to have dinner and go to Color Me Mine, a place she loved for art. It was during this memory that she struggled with what to call her father and he painted a cheeseburger at Color Me Mine, a memento she still likely has somewhere in her room.

"Many knew him better than I did due to his career. My idea of him was based on what I was told, rather than our relationship. I also revealed that I ended things with De La Hoya due to his infidelity when our daughter was just a toddler."
Moakler claimed that there were numerous third parties involved. "He just lost his first fight. I met him at Universal and asked, 'Do you still want this?'" Moakler mentioned that De La Hoya had reassured her of his love months before she witnessed footage of him accompanying his ex-wife Millie Corretjer to the Latin Grammy Awards.
Moakler recounted the emotional pain of seeing her ex-husband with his new partner, recalling the sudden and harsh end of their relationship. Despite the heartbreak, she found love again with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who she described as the true love of her life. Together, they started a family before eventually parting ways in 2008.
Following Moakler and Barker’s divorce, they prioritized coparenting Landon and Alabama. Barker also remained close with former stepdaughter Atiana.

De La Hoya has a son named Jacob, 25, with Toni Alvarado, and another son named Devon, 24, with Angelique McQueen. He also has three children, Oscar (17), Nina (14), and Victoria (9), with Corretjer. He acknowledged in The Golden Boy that he relied on the mothers to care for his children.
