Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski stood up for Taylor Swift when a review criticized her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.

The New York Times posted their opinion piece on TTPD on Instagram on the album's release date, Friday, April 19, suggesting that Swift "could use an editor."

The album was described as "self-indulgent" with "diminishing returns" for listeners in the caption that included a brief review snippet.

Porowski quickly joined the conversation in the comments, expressing his surprise with, "Oh no what u doing."

The Netflix star is a big fan of Taylor Swift's album. He shared on his Instagram Stories that his favorite tracks are “Down Bad,” “Florida!!!,” “loml,” and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Porowski's casual comment hints at the strong defense Swifties, Taylor Swift's fans, often give the pop star on social media.

Porowski, who is 40 years old, is actually friends with Taylor Swift, who is 34. They became friends through their mutual friend Gigi Hadid, whom they both live close to in New York City. Interestingly, Porowski and Swift first met years ago when he auditioned for Swift's music video "Blank Space" back in 2014.

Porowski remembered a funny incident where he had to act like he was being attacked by a lion on a green screen. It was quite awkward for him. In the end, the job went to model Sean Richard O'Pry.

Porowski did eventually appear in a music video along with the rest of the Queer Eye cast for 2019’s “You Need to Calm Down.”

The pair have been seen together multiple times in social settings, such as going to Madonna’s 2019 Madame X Tour in Brooklyn and Porowski joining Swift and friends to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, at a Kansas City Chiefs game in October 2023.

Porowski enthusiastically backs Swift’s relationship with Kelce, 34, and spoke highly of his friend when discussing her connection with the NFL tight end.

Porowski expressed his happiness for Swift during an interview with People in November 2023. He praised her as an incredible and formidable woman who is touring the world.

He also shared his hopes for the couple, wishing for their continued happiness and enjoyment of the present moment and all the moments to come.
