Taylor Swift is finally opening up about her romance with Travis Kelce, leaving no detail spared.
Following her recognition as TIME's 2023 Person of the Year, 33-year-old Swift gave her first in-depth interview in nearly four years. She discussed her record-breaking tour, love life, and opened up about her connection with Kelce. The spark between them ignited when Kelce shared his admiration for Swift on his podcast, "New Heights," leading Swift to describe his action as "metal as hell." This happened in a July episode, during which Kelce expressed his desire to give Swift a friendship bracelet at one of her shows on the Kansas City Eras Tour.
Kelce revealed that they didn't manage to meet at the concert, but Swift later confirmed that they "started hanging out right after that." Sparks were already flying when Swift made her first appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game in September.
"We had a good amount of time together that no one knew about, which I'm grateful for, because we really got to know each other," she added. "By the time I went to that first game, we were already a couple. I think some people believe they saw our first date at that game? We would never be crazy enough to have our first date in public like that."
Swift has been seen at numerous NFL games supporting Kelce, with the most recent appearance being in Wisconsin on Sunday, December 3, during the Chiefs' game against the Green Bay Packers. In return, Kelce flew to Buenos Aires, Argentina, last month to watch Swift perform on the international leg of her Eras Tour.
Swift stated, "When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care. The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other."
Swift's attendance at Kelce's games has sparked discussions among music and sports enthusiasts. Cameras frequently capture Swift and her group, which has recently included Brittany Mahomes, in the stadium during broadcasts. "I don't know how they know which suite I'm in," she admitted, expressing uncertainty about the frequency of the camera's focus on her. "I don't know if I'm being shown 17 times or once."
While she can't control her level of fame, Swift is adamant about not overshadowing Kelce. "I'm just there to support Travis," she emphasized. "I have no idea if I'm being shown too much and upsetting a few dads, Brads, and Chads."
Kelce hinted on “New Heights” that the NFL may be giving too much attention to his relationship with Swift, but the league defended its coverage of the couple in a statement in October. Swift, on the other hand, has been enjoying her foray into the world of sports.
“Turns out football is awesome,” she joked. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
Apart from her Chiefs appearances, Swift and Kelce have made joint surprise cameos on the season 49 premiere of Saturday Night Live in October in New York City. Later that month, a source exclusively told We that the pair are “really happy” together.

“They’re not saying they’re in love yet. But it’s obvious to her friends they’re heading in that direction,” the insider added. “Friends think they’re in love.”
Last month, another source stated that Swift and Kelce are a genuine couple with a strong connection. Despite their busy schedules, their relationship won't be affected. The source confirmed that they have detailed plans to stay together while Swift is on tour and Kelce has games.
