Analyst Suggests Switch 2 to be Evolutionary rather than Revolutionary

Analyst Serkan Toto suggests that Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 will prioritize iterative improvements over radical changes, aiming to enhance the gaming experience Additionally, Toto predicts a potential price tag of $400 for the next-gen console

According to analyst Serkan Toto, the upcoming Switch 2 may resemble the current hybrid console and will likely be priced higher when Nintendo releases it later this year. Toto predicts that the Switch 2 will hit the market in 2024 with a price tag of $400. He also anticipates that the new system will be more of an evolution rather than a revolution, with additional features but maintaining the familiar hybrid functionality and portability for on-the-go gaming.

Toto suggests that Nintendo might increase the prices for Switch 2 games to $70. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was the first Nintendo-developed game for the system to be priced at $70. Reports from July indicated that developers had already received Switch 2 development kits, with a 2024 launch planned. It was also suggested that the system would be portable, aligning with Toto's prediction. Digital Foundry's investigation into the hardware internals of the Switch 2 revealed that it could potentially run Death Stranding at 1080p with around 35 frames per second.

Nintendo hasn't officially revealed a Switch successor yet. However, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser said the aim of a new system would be to "surprise and delight."

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z fan, I am excited about the potential release of the Switch 2. The current Switch has been a huge success, and I am eager to see what improvements Nintendo can make with the next iteration. I think it's smart for Nintendo to focus on evolutionary improvements rather than radical changes. The Switch's hybrid design has been a major selling point, and I would be disappointed if Nintendo abandoned it. I also think it's important for Nintendo to keep the price of the Switch 2 affordable. $400 is a bit more than the current Switch, but I think it's a fair price for a new console.

Overall, I am optimistic about the Switch 2. I think it has the potential to be an even better console than the original Switch. I can't wait to see what Nintendo has in store for us!
