America Lopez, a contestant on Big Brother 25, expressed her desire to collaborate with Blue Kim in the game. However, she felt that the presence of Jared Fields hindered their ability to form a strong alliance. "I believe that Blue and I were unable to establish a solid connection and create a powerful alliance due to Jared," shared the 27-year-old America in an exclusive interview with We on October 27. This statement came after America and Blue, aged 25, were eliminated together during the season's second double eviction.
She expressed, "I always felt distant from [Jared]. I'm not sure why. Maybe because Jared was so close to Izzy [Gleicher], who never really trusted me, it was impossible for us to connect."
Cory Wurtenberger, America's showmance partner, used to be friends and allies with Jared, who is 25. However, their relationship turned sour last month when Cory, 22, confronted Jared about spreading lies. As a result, Cory nominated Jared during the season's first double eviction, leading to Jared's elimination from the game. (Despite being given the opportunity to return through the "Big Brother Zombies" twist, Jared ultimately lost the three-round competition to Cameron Hardin.)
Blue started actively trying to get rid of Cory after he targeted her showmance, but her issues with America had already started before that.
"When we entered into different showmances, I don't know, it just didn't click for some reason. It should have, right? Corey and Jared were really close friends. Blue and I should have been close friends too," America explained. "But I think Jared's lack of trust in me... I didn't really connect with Jared on that level. So, it was never able to work because of that."
Before last week's eviction, America attempted to alert Blue about Matt Klotz and Jag Bains' intentions to target her. Rather than trusting America's warning, Blue chose to share the information with Matt and Jag, resulting in a shift of their focus towards Cory.
Although America regrets her indiscreet choice of confiding in Blue, leading to Cory's eviction, she expressed that she does not hold Blue responsible for the outcome.
“I believe Matt and Jag were merely searching for any minor justification to target [Cory]. They were aware that he wasn't the individual conversing with Blue, unlike me,” America clarified. “I don’t believe it was the conversations with Blue that prompted them to single out Cory.”
While America didn't establish a strong bond with Blue during their time in the Big Brother house, she did form a romantic connection with Cory, a relationship she is enthusiastic about advancing outside of the show.

“I have full confidence in the strength of our relationship. The intense environment of the Big Brother house often brings out people's negative qualities, and if that was Cory at his worst, I can handle it,” she expressed. “I'm thrilled to see what adventures await us beyond this place. Throughout the season, we created a list of various activities, shows to watch, and places to visit. Above all, I'm ecstatic to reunite with him and share these experiences together.”
Cory also expressed a similar sentiment upon his eviction earlier this month. “I have a positive outlook on our future, and even if things don't work out, that's alright,” he stated. “But America has been incredible, and I refuse to enter our relationship outside of the game with the assumption that everything will change. She's amazing. I believe we can make it work.”
Cory and America will meet again in the jury house, but Blue and Jared will have to wait longer before they can reunite. This is because Jared was eliminated from the game before the jury phase.
When asked about the possibility of continuing to date Jared after the season ends, Blue exclusively told Us on Friday that she hasn't seen Jared in a very long time. However, she mentioned that during her time in the Big Brother house, she often thought about him and would send a little kiss towards the memory wall where the cast's photos are displayed. Blue believes there is potential for a future relationship but suggests that we need to wait and see.
Jared, on the other hand, recently expressed his belief that there is a strong chance of him and Blue embarking on a romantic relationship outside of the current setting. He emphasized the importance of evaluating their compatibility outside of the intense environment they are currently in. Jared confidently stated that their personalities harmonize exceptionally well, leading him to envision a future with her.
Five contestants remain on Big Brother, which airs on CBS Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
