Amanda Bynes from The Amanda Show is going back to school to pursue her new career goals.
At 38 years old, Bynes revealed on her Instagram Stories on Monday, April 8, that she is returning to school to study manicurist theory and practice acrylics. She explained that she hasn't passed the board exam yet to obtain her manicurist license, so she wants to make sure she is well-prepared before trying the test again. This way, she will be ready to secure a job at a nail salon.
The former Nickelodeon star recently shared an update after celebrating her birthday in a low-key manner. Instead of throwing a big party, Bynes opted to spend the day touring apartment complexes, as reported by E! News on April 3.
Back in October 2022, the What A Girl Wants actress expressed her aspiration of becoming a nail technician. She shared on social media that she was attending cosmetology school to study nail art.
In December 2023, things took a pause when she launched a new podcast called "Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast." The premiere episode was a success, but Bynes later revealed that podcasting wasn't her main focus.
She shared on her Instagram Stories that month, "I was pleasantly surprised by the response and was planning to continue after some friends encouraged me to. However, upon reflection, I have decided to pursue getting my manicurist license and securing a stable job instead. I appreciate you following along on my journey!"

In 2013, things shifted for Bynes when her parents filed for a conservatorship. Following this, the actress took a step back from the spotlight and focused on other endeavors, such as earning an associate's degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM).
After nearly nine years, Bynes' conservatorship came to an end in 2022.
