Alabama Barker Opens Up About Her Feelings Following Shanna Moakler's Revealing Podcast Interview

Alabama Barker opens up about her feelings of disappointment following her mother Shanna Moakler's controversial podcast interview, where she criticized the Kardashian family

Alabama Barker is following in the footsteps of Khloé Kardashian by sharing cryptic quotes, in response to Shanna Moakler's recent podcast interview. "Once you stop depending on others, your life will greatly improve," Alabama, 18, posted on her Instagram Story on Thursday, January 11. "Disappointment in others will become a thing of the past."

Alabama recently spoke out about her mother's claims that Kim Kardashian may have played a role in her parents' divorce on a recent episode of the "Dumb Blonde" podcast. Shanna Moakler, who is 48, alleged that she received text messages from an unnamed source that revealed conversations between her ex-husband Travis, who is 48, and Kim, who is 43. Moakler accused them of attempting to arrange a rendezvous at Kim's sister's house. She also claimed that Travis deleted the messages when she confronted him. Kim reportedly denied having any romantic involvement with Travis and allegedly stated, "I don't like white guys."

Moakler expressed that she and Travis never managed to overcome the alleged drama, ultimately leading to their separation. On the podcast, she shared, "I was deeply in love with him and truly wanted our relationship to succeed."

Moakler and Travis tied the knot in 2004 and have a son named Landon, who is now 20 years old. Although they initially separated in 2006, they were in an on-again, off-again relationship before officially divorcing in 2008.

Despite Alabama's cryptic Instagram post, Moakler stated in a podcast that she has a strong and positive relationship with her children.

Parental alienation is a genuine issue. I raised my children and I did it well," she stated confidently. "There were never any problems between my kids and me until my ex-husband [Travis] began dating a member of the Kardashian family. I am confident in my role as a mother and have a very close relationship with my kids."

Travis began a relationship with Kourtney Kardashian in early 2021, and the couple had multiple wedding ceremonies in 2022. Their first child together, son Rocky Thirteen, was born in November 2023.

Moakler's podcast appearance wasn't the first time Travis' history with Kim has been questioned. In his 2015 memoir, Can I Say, the Blink-182 drummer first mentioned Kim, referring to her as Paris Hilton's "closet girl." Travis admitted to finding Kim "hot" when they met in 2006 during his brief fling with Hilton. (Kim was Hilton's assistant at the time.)

"We had dinner and lunch," Travis wrote. "Despite what may be assumed from her reputation, my interactions with Kim was completely different from what I've experienced with other women. With her, I wanted to show nothing but respect and courtesy. It was a strange feeling."

Travis has refuted any claims of a physical relationship with his sister-in-law.

He told the Los Angeles Times in October 2023, "Kourtney’s fans are worried about Travis. He’s a womanizer." He was referring to his resurfaced memoir comments and added, "I obviously shared all that stuff because I wanted to move past it. It was therapeutic for me."

He continued, noting that Kourtney is well-informed about his history with Kim. He acknowledged that many fans believe he was the cause of the sisters' argument on The Kardashians. (Kourtney and Kim disagreed during season 3 of the reality show over their individual partnerships with Dolce & Gabbana.)

“Nothing bad was going on,” he added. “You give people a little information and they think they’ve solved the mystery of ‘this is why they’re fighting.’ It’s just so ridiculous.”
