Abigail Spencer brought a special message from her close friend Meghan Markle to The Kelly Clarkson Show.
During the Monday, February 26, episode, Spencer, 42, excitedly conveyed Meghan's greetings to host Kelly Clarkson.
"Meg says hello and that she loves you, and that she voted for you on American Idol," Spencer gushed.
Clarkson, 41, the winner of season 1 of American Idol in 2002, expressed her gratitude to Meg by saying, "Hello, Meg! It worked! Thank you. … Aww, I love that."
Spencer, accompanied by Donald Faison, made an appearance on the talk show to promote their new NBC sitcom, Extended Family. Amidst discussing the show, Spencer took the opportunity to convey her message to Markle, 42.
Spencer shared a story about having dinner with Michael Bublé, who praised the Duchess of Sussex as the greatest singer on earth. The compliment was unsolicited, as Spencer did not mention his upcoming appearance on the show during their conversation. The Duchess had a message for Kelly.
Spencer has been a close friend of the Duchess of Sussex for years, attending her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 and her baby shower for son Prince Archie in 2019. Meghan and Harry, who also have a daughter named Princess Lilibet, 2, have maintained a strong friendship with Spencer over the years.
In 2007, while doing a pilot for NBC, I had the opportunity to read with the actors auditioning to play my best friends. It was during this audition that I noticed a beautiful individual at the end of the table, sparking my curiosity. We soon discovered that we shared the same birthday, same day, and same year, establishing a special connection between us.
Years later, I was cast in the television show Suits, where our friendship blossomed and grew. Throughout this time and beyond, she has proven to be an incredible person whom I deeply value.
Spencer played attorney Dana “Scottie” Scott on AMC’s Suits during its inaugural season, sharing the screen with Markle, Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres.
Following the conclusion of Suits in 2019 — with Markle departing the series a year earlier before marrying Harry — the duchess has stayed connected with Spencer.
Spencer exclusively shared with We in November 2018 that he tries not to talk about their relationship, but he couldn't help but express how amazing she is. He described her as wonderful and one of the most incredible people on the planet. He expressed his gratitude that others get to witness her wonder.
