An executive at ABC is commenting on the suggestion that fans of Taylor Swift were involved in Harry Jowsey's elimination from Dancing With the Stars. Robert Mills, the Vice President of Alternative Series at ABC Studios, posted a screenshot of a U.S. Sun headline on X (formerly Twitter) on November 21. The headline read, "Taylor Swift fans promise to vote Harry Jowsey off 'DWTS' after reality star 'betrayal' on social media."
Mills commented alongside the screenshot, "I wonder if this is what really happened." This comment came just minutes after Jowsey, 26, and his professional partner, Rylee Arnold, were eliminated from the reality series. Despite consistently ranking low throughout the competition, Jowsey was able to stay in the running thanks to fan votes until the latest episode on Tuesday.
Ahead of this week’s elimination, Swifties noticed that Jowsey follows Scooter Braun on Instagram. Some fans saw this as a betrayal given Swift’s public feud with Braun, 42, ever since his media company, Ithaca Holdings, acquired Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group — and therefore Swift’s first six albums — in 2019. (Braun sold Swift’s master rights to Shamrock Holdings for $300 million in 2020.)
Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold's connection to Disney/Christopher Willard has led one X user to discourage fans from voting for Jowsey on social media platform on November 20.
"Hey Swifties, there's a DWTS contestant who is a big fan of Scooter Braun. Let's show our support for Charity Lawson, Jason Mraz, or Xochitl Gomez instead. The post received over 1,000 'likes' and 200 shares. Meanwhile, Jowsey and his fellow DWTS competitors danced to music from Taylor Swift's songbook and received the lowest score of the night."
Jowsey expressed, "This journey has been incredibly special. I can't believe how far we've come. Witnessing Rylee live out her dreams in her first season has been absolutely incredible."
Arnold added, "I'm extremely pleased with how everything unfolded, and I feel so fortunate to have been partnered with Harry. I'm just so proud of him. The whole experience has been truly enjoyable."

During their time on the show, the pair's chemistry ignited dating rumors. In October, a TikTok video of them holding hands at Los Angeles' Hollywood Palladium went viral, further fueling the speculation.
Regarding the clip, Jowsey told Page Six, "That video does look pretty wild but we got pushed into a corner. We were trying to get out of this concert. We're just focusing on the dance and just enjoying being together and if something happens, something happens."
Despite shutting down the romance speculation, Jowsey gushed about Arnold on several occasions.
