After distancing himself from the Marvel universe for a few years, Avengers: Age of Ultron star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to make a comeback in Sony's upcoming film Kraven The Hunter. Taylor-Johnson, known for his role as Quicksilver in the Marvel Studios franchise, has had a successful career with appearances in other major franchises such as Warner Bros.' Godzilla reboot and Sony's Bullet Train. However, he now opens up about the reasons behind his sporadic involvement in important roles throughout his career.

In a recent interview with Esquire magazine, Taylor-Johnson delved into his career and confessed to rejecting roles in major franchises as his fame skyrocketed following the success of Avengers: Age of Ultron. "I didn't really have a fondness for them," the actor admits, "[I had opportunities for movies] that were under the radar— colossal, high-profile franchises that were up for grabs." The actor, known for his role in The Avengers, shared his thoughts on the ideal frequency of taking on new roles. According to him, constantly jumping from one project to another can become monotonous and uninteresting due to the repetitive nature of tasks like makeup, hair, and reading lines. Instead, he prefers engaging in soul-nourishing activities. "I find pleasure in the normal, everyday aspects of life," he expresses. "Mornings spent getting my children ready, accompanying them to school and their various activities - that's fulfilling enough for me."

Although the Tenet actor initially believed he would take a break from major franchises, he finds himself preparing for the recognition that awaits him with his upcoming starring role in Kraven The Hunter. The highly-anticipated film, scheduled to debut in August 2024, will be part of Sony's Spider-Man Universe. It follows the journey of Russian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff, who embarks on a mission to establish himself as the greatest hunter in the world. Furthermore, he has other projects on the horizon, such as The Fall Guy from Universal Pictures, set to premiere in March 2024, and Nosferatu, also slated for release in 2024.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is available on Disney Plus, and Kraven The Hunter will release in theaters on August 30, 2024.
