Will Aaron Taylor-Johnson Actually Be The Next James Bond?
Following No Time To Die (and even prior to that), there have been ongoing speculations about potential actors stepping in as Craig's successor. Idris Elba was frequently favored by fans for the role, but he clearly expressed his disinterest on the matter last year, effectively eliminating himself from contention. Subsequently, Taylor-Johnson swiftly emerged as the next buzzworthy name associated with the role earlier this year, following a reportedly successful meeting with producer Barbara Broccoli.
Taylor-Johnson's response to the Bond casting rumors was neither a confirmation nor denial of a meeting, instead referring to them as "flattering". Despite this, Taylor-Johnson remains the favored choice among pundits, alongside contenders such as Henry Cavill and James Norton, who have also been top picks.
It remains uncertain whether Taylor-Johnson will ultimately become the next James Bond, but at 33, he falls within the appropriate age range for the role. While the producers have not explicitly stated that they are seeking actors in their early 30s, they have emphasized that the role will require a commitment of at least ten years, if not more. This means that older choices like Tom Hardy, who is now 45, may be too mature for the role, potentially impacting Cavill's chances as well, as he is currently 40 years old.
