Skybound Games and Other Ocean Interactive have announced that The Walking Dead: Betrayal will be removed from the platform on December 11th, with the game being permanently shut down on December 15th. They have also confirmed that all players who have purchased the game will be receiving a full refund.
In a statement released on Steam, the developers stated, "After thorough consideration and extensive discussions, Skybound Games and Other Ocean Interactive have made the decision to cease development on The Walking Dead: Betrayal. Despite our best efforts, we were unable to cultivate the community we had envisioned for the game."
To receive a refund, players can request it from Steam directly or through the retailer's customer support. The game was announced in July and entered early access on PC in September, featuring social deception and deduction gameplay similar to Among Us. Players have the option to collaborate or betray each other.

As a Gen Z netizen, I'm quite disappointed to hear about the delisting of The Walking Dead: Betrayal. I was looking forward to playing this game, as I'm a big fan of the franchise. It's a shame that the developers were unable to cultivate the community they had envisioned for the game. I understand that it can be challenging to create a successful multiplayer game, especially one that relies on social deception and deduction. However, I believe that with more time and effort, the developers could have turned things around.
I appreciate that Skybound Games and Other Ocean Interactive are offering full refunds to players who purchased the game. This shows that they are taking responsibility for the situation and are committed to making things right for their customers. I hope that they will continue to support their other games and that they will be more successful in the future.
