Zendaya's Heartfelt Birthday Tribute to Iconic Stylist Law Roach Sparks Retirement Rumors

Zendaya extended birthday greetings to her dear friend and former stylist Law Roach on the occasion of his 45th birthday. Sharing a picture of themselves from the Valentino spring/summer 2023 runway show during Paris Fashion Week in October 2022, Zendaya, 26, captioned it with heartfelt wishes and expressed her love for him.

Zendaya's birthday tribute comes four months after Roach's announcement of retirement from the fashion industry. He shared a screenshot of the word "Retire" on Instagram, which has since been deleted. In the caption of the upload on March 14, Roach expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported his career and entrusted him with their image. He also mentioned that if the fashion industry was solely about clothes, he would continue doing it indefinitely, but unfortunately, he was worn down by the politics, lies, and false narratives. As a result, he decided to leave the industry. ️️️

After speculations arose that his retirement was a result of a conflict with Zendaya, Roach made it clear that there were no ill feelings between him and the Euphoria actress. In a series of tweets, he expressed that Zendaya was like a younger sister to him and their bond was genuine, not just superficial. He emphasized that their relationship was forever and debunked any notion of them parting ways.

Nevertheless, Roach admitted that he made the decision to retire without discussing it with Zendaya first. During an appearance on Emily Ratajkowski's "High Low with EmRata" podcast on March 21, he mentioned that it was a difficult situation for Zendaya. He recounted how she reached out to him, expressing her surprise and disappointment. However, she ultimately supported him and offered her assistance, even suggesting sending him on a vacation to help him through whatever he was going through.

Despite dressing A-list celebrities like Kerry Washington, Megan Thee Stallion, Hunter Schafer, and others, Roach disclosed to Zendaya his prolonged dissatisfaction, which intensified after the tragic loss of his 3-year-old nephew in November 2021.

One month later, Law Roach accompanied Zendaya to the red carpet event at the grand opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in India. Law donned an eye-catching floral outfit by Rahul Mishra, complemented by exquisite Bulgari jewelry. Zendaya, on the other hand, looked stunning in a Mishra-designed ensemble featuring a sheer, violet sari and a beautifully embroidered gold bralette.

Zendaya's boyfriend, Tom Holland, accompanied the couple to the event, making his own entrance on the red carpet. He exuded elegance, dressed in a sharp black suit and a pristine white dress shirt.

After relinquishing his position as a stylist, Roach swiftly ventured into the world of modeling. In March, he made his runway debut for Boss's spring/summer 2023 collection. Catching everyone's attention, he confidently showcased a stylish lavender suit paired with brown dress shoes. Among the notable attendees were Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell, and DJ Khaled.

During an interview with Vogue, he expressed his gratitude for the Boss team recognizing him beyond his role as a stylist for renowned celebrities. He clarified that his retirement did not encompass the entire fashion industry, as he still holds a passion for fashion, the business aspect, and creative endeavors. His decision to retire pertains specifically to his work in celebrity styling, where he served others, choosing to step away from that aspect of the industry.
