Zayn Malik Admits He Wishes He Got His and Gigi Hadid's Daughter Khai '90 Percent' of the Time

Zayn Malik recently talked about co-parenting his 3-year-old daughter Khai with ex Gigi Hadid. In an interview with Nylon, Malik, 31, shared that he has his daughter with him half of the time. He expressed that he wishes he could have her with him even more, ideally 90 percent of the time.

Malik shared, "We can either go see Disney on Ice, visit the Nickelodeon theme park, or head to the beach. That's how I like to spend my time outside."

He also mentioned that he and Hadid began dating in 2015 and later welcomed their family expansion. Reflecting on their journey, he said, "From the ages of 21 to 27, I was with Gi and we had a child. I didn't really have much time to focus on getting to know myself," he shared with the magazine.

After the birth of their first child, a source exclusively revealed to us that Gigi and Zayn became even closer. "Gigi and Zayn are really enjoying being parents and are completely smitten with their baby girl," the insider shared. They added that Hadid is cherishing every moment spent with her daughter and Malik.

In 2021, Malik made headlines for facing four criminal charges of harassment after an incident involving Gigi's mother, Yolanda Hadid. Malik accepted the charges without contest, resulting in a fine and 360 days of probation. He was also required to attend anger management classes and a domestic violence program. That same month, news broke that Gigi and Malik had ended their relationship.

Malik has since stated that he and Gigi maintain a positive coparenting relationship.

"My main focus is setting a positive example for Khai," he shared during a July 2023 episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast. "That's why I'm here doing this interview. I used to feel anxious about conversations like this. I want her to see me and think, 'My dad is handling this well.'"

During his interview with Nylon, Malik noted that his childhood played a role in how he dove into dating.

I used to lead a relaxed life in Bradford without a girlfriend. My parents were traditional, so I never introduced a girlfriend to them. But when I finally did, I was all in, thinking, ‘I’m ready for a girlfriend who will live with me. This is me being an adult.’

Malik added, “It's important to take your time before committing to someone as a lifelong partner.”
