Once again, Matt Rife finds himself in trouble. His ex, Brooke Schofield, has alleged that he was communicating with "20 women" while they were still together earlier this year.
Recently while I was on TikTok, I got tagged in a video showing a girl with Matt," Schofield, 27, revealed during a "Cancelled" podcast episode with Tana Mongeau, released on December 8th. After checking the comments on the video, Schofield found a girl claiming that the pictures were from "the beginning of this year." In response, Schofield sent a direct message to the social media user requesting a "timeline." This led to her being added to a group chat with several "beautiful, strange women" who shared their alleged experiences with Rife.
"We had timelines and Venn diagrams as we compared notes. It was absolutely insane," Schofield declared. "For someone who supposedly has no time, he seemed to have the most time."
Formerly known as "Mr. DC," Schofield disclosed on the podcast last Friday that the mystery man she was seeing is actually Rife.
"This wasn't just a casual relationship, it was more than that," Schofield explained. "I genuinely liked him. It was more from his side, he was the one initiating conversations that made me feel like, 'I haven't felt this way about anyone in so long.' To anyone with common sense, it's love-bombing, but I had lost all rational thinking at that point."
Things took a turn for the worse when Schofield traveled to see Rife's comedy shows, but when they were in Los Angeles together, he allegedly didn't show the same affection, making her feel foolish. Then, when Rife appeared on the "Cancelled" podcast in June, Schofield claimed he was "pretending" not to know her.
Schofield wanted to open up about her encounter with Rife after facing criticism online for her support of the controversial comedian on the "Cancelled" podcast with Mongeau. Mongeau clarified she didn't intend to come across as an apologist, while Schofield admitted she held him in high regard.
When Schofield tried to contact Rife about the alleged group chat of women, she found out that he had seemingly "blocked" her. (Rife is currently dating Jessica Lord.)
Schofield expressed her intention to send a message to Rife in order to clarify the facts, emphasizing that she had not been rude. She conveyed her embarrassment at defending him while facing criticism and being in a group chat with his seven other girlfriends. She also mentioned that Rife had blocked her number. We reached out to Rife’s team for comment, but they declined.
After receiving strong criticism online for his recent Natural Selection Netflix special, which featured a series of controversial jokes about special needs and domestic violence, Rife remained unfazed. In response, he posted an "official apology" on his Instagram Story, guiding followers to an online store where they could purchase Special Needs Helmets.
