Spy x Family season 2 episode 8 was a delight to watch, packed with thrilling action and centered entirely on the beloved character, Yor Forger. Known for her affectionate and gentle nature, she also possesses impressive skills in hand-to-hand combat and weapons use for assassination. This unique combination has made her a fan favorite, and the latest episode pushed her to her limits, showcasing her indomitable will in the face of adversity.
Taking a look at JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure reference in the latest Spy x Family season 2 episode 8
In a particular fight scene with Yor, the choreography bore a striking resemblance to a well-known move from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Fans went so far as to dub Yor the "biggest JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure stan." Let's delve into the reference made in the most recent episode of the anime series.
In the latest episode of Spy x Family season 2, Yor bravely escorts Olka, her son Graham, and Zeb to safety as they are hunted by assassins. Despite being discovered due to Olka's perfume, Yor skillfully creates an opportunity for escape. Zeb's heroic act of diving in front of bullets ultimately saves Olka and her child. #SpyxFamily #Season2 #Episode8
Yor methodically incapacitated one target after another, showcasing her impressive kicking abilities in episode 8 of Spy x Family season 2. She even evaded a sniper rifle bullet with remarkable agility, ultimately being saved by the Garden's Director in a tight spot. When a tall, blonde man attempted to take her out, Yor retaliated with a rapid flurry of punches, reminiscent of Kujo Jotaro's Star Platinum Stand technique, known for its incredible speed and accompanied by Jotaro's signature battle cry, "ora ora ora".
The resemblance is striking when Giorno unleashes his Gold Experience Stand to attack his adversaries. While Yor's reaction differs from Kujo Jotaro's typical response, the positioning and animation of this particular scene unmistakably pay homage to Hirohiko Araki's masterpiece.
X (formerly Twitter) users were thrilled with what they witnessed and proclaimed that Yor was a huge admirer of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures series. It's typical for anime series to pay homage to other shows, similar to the approach taken in Spy x Family season 2 episode 8.
In the first season of this anime series, there was a reference to the show Dragon Ball when Anya played dodgeball. The animation paid tribute to the influential Shonen anime series. It will be exciting to see if Spy x Family includes more references to other anime titles in the future. Fans enjoyed this and are eager to see more in upcoming episodes.

As an enthusiastic fan of both Spy x Family and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, I was thrilled to see the homage paid to JoJo in the latest episode of Spy x Family. Yor's fighting style has always been a highlight of the show, and seeing her use moves reminiscent of Jotaro Kujo and Giorno Giovanna was an exciting treat. The animation team did an excellent job of capturing the essence of JoJo's fast-paced, over-the-top action, and it was clear that they had a lot of fun with this reference.
Overall, I think this was a great way to pay tribute to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and I hope to see more references like this in the future. It's always fun to see different anime series interact with each other, and it's clear that the creators of Spy x Family are big fans of JoJo. I can't wait to see what other surprises they have in store for us in the future.
