JOJOLands is the newest addition to the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise, with a monthly release schedule and an alternate universe setting, just like JoJolion. This installment boasts a fresh cast of characters, but the main focus is still on the protagonist. Expectations were high for the main character, Jodio Joestar, as it was announced prior to the manga's release that he would be related to Joseph Joestar. Jodio made an explosive debut in the first chapter, and his journey towards wealth is set to be a challenging one. With numerous obstacles in his path, Jodio's mental and physical strength will be put to the test.
Jodio Joestar
Jodio, at just 15 years old, possesses a remarkable intelligence that sets him apart from his peers. He approaches his tasks with great care and precision, a testament to his sharp mind. As a descendant of the Joestar family, Jodio is the grandson of Joseph Joestar and Suzy Q, and the son of Barbara Ann Joestar and an unnamed man. His family moved to Honolulu when he was young, but their divorce had a profound impact on Jodio's psyche, leading him to become reclusive. As a child, he was recruited by a gang that recognized his potential, and he has continued to work in this field alongside his older sibling, Dragona Joestar. Despite his antisocial tendencies, Jodio is fiercely protective of his family and will stop at nothing to keep them safe. Unlike other Joestars, Jodio lacks the ability to feel remorse, a quality that allows him to eliminate anyone in his way without hesitation. When he's not on the job, Jodio indulges in his love for manga, particularly the works of Kishibe Rohan.
His Stand
November Rain is the moniker of Jodio's Stand, which operates at close range. It derives its name from the popular hit song by the renowned rock band Guns N' Roses. Its primary ability is to stimulate rain showers with heavy raindrops, which can pulverize the target with ease. The name of the Stand aptly describes its prowess. Although Jodio can use this power at will, the Stand's effects appear to be temporary as his adversaries have regained their original form after being crushed by the rain.
In addition to this, Jodio can regulate the range of the Stand, which enables him to focus on small targets in a vast area. Jodio employed November Rain to obliterate evidence in the possession of a DEA officer and to deceive Kishibe Rohan into believing that it was raining. While the other powers of the Stand remain concealed, they will be uncovered in time. Araki will need to delve deep into his imaginative reserves to ensure that Jodio's Stand surpasses Josuke's in strength.
His Goal
Throughout the story, Jodio's obsession with wealth leads him to get involved with criminal activity. Despite starting with small jobs, he is determined to take on bigger challenges to reach his goal. However, as he rises within the gang, he must decide whether to continue down this path or forge his own way. This decision will ultimately determine his fate. One of his biggest challenges is stealing a diamond from Rohan's mansion, where things quickly become complicated. Jodio uses his Stand to distract Rohan, but soon realizes he's up against a formidable opponent with superior fighting skills. Rohan's abilities prove to be a major obstacle for Jodio and his crew.
Jodio's fate may lead him to face off against Rohan, and if he prevails, it will serve as a powerful demonstration of his abilities. Despite much remaining unknown about Jodio, it is certain that he possesses the potential to rank among the greatest JoJos of the series.
