Xbox Game Pass Unveils Mind-Blowing Lineup for October 2023

Xbox Game Pass adds two exciting titles to its subscription service in October 2023, further enhancing its already impressive lineup for the month

Highlights

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can expect two new games, Jusant and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, to join the service on their release day in October.

Starting October 31, players can enjoy Jusant, an exciting adventure game by Don't Nod Entertainment, on Game Pass. This game incorporates a stamina bar mechanic, reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

After experiencing a delay, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a first-person shooter with class-based gameplay, will now be releasing on Xbox Series X|S on October 4. Its arrival on Game Pass brings the potential for an RPG-inspired revamp to the class system.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can anticipate the addition of two new games to the service in October, Jusant and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Jusant was previously revealed at Xbox's game showcase during Summer Game Fest in June and is an adventure game with a focus on climbing. The game is being developed by Don't Nod Entertainment, the studio behind the popular Life is Strange franchise.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a part of the expansive Warhammer franchise, was previously released on PC in November 2022 to a decent reception. However, its introduction to Xbox was delayed until 2023. Darktide is a class-based first-person shooter where up to four players cooperate to combat hordes of challenging enemies. The game follows a similar formula to its fantasy counterpart, the Warhammer: Vermintide duology. It was highly anticipated and expected to launch on Game Pass, but faced delays.

Xbox Game Pass' Twitter account recently announced the release date for Jusant, a stylish climbing sim game developed by Don't Nod, the creators of Life is Strange. This highly anticipated game will be available on Game Pass starting October 31, just a week before the release of Don't Nod's own Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden in November. The announcement was accompanied by a new two-minute trailer showcasing the climbing gameplay and the game's sleek user interface. In an interesting twist, Jusant will introduce a stamina bar mechanic during climbing, similar to the popular feature in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Players will need to manage their stamina while utilizing various equipment to navigate the beautiful, ruined mountain landscape.

Prior to Jusant's launch on Xbox Game Pass, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, which had experienced a previous delay, will be available on the service starting on October 4, nearly two months ahead of its PC anniversary. Developer Fatshark had postponed the Xbox release due to concerns about console performance. However, they have now promised to introduce a major update to the class system in Darktide, giving each class a new, extensive skill tree similar to that seen in role-playing games. Though not officially confirmed, it is reasonable to assume that this class overhaul update will coincide with the game's Xbox release on October 4 and will also be implemented in the PC version.

With a jam-packed lineup of major AAA releases such as Assassin's Creed Mirage, Alan Wake 2, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder vying for attention in October, it is hoped that the availability of Jusant and Darktide on Game Pass will provide the necessary boost to secure a satisfactory number of players. Additionally, The Lamplighters League and Xbox's very own Forza Motorsport will keep Game Pass users thoroughly occupied in October. Darktide is currently accessible on PC and will launch on Xbox Series X|S on October 4, while Jusant is set to arrive on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 31.
