Xbox Game Pass now offers a unique category for its games which caters to a particular group of gamers who are passionate about seeing more of their player character than what some games provide. This category is highly specific and has gained popularity among this group of players.
Often compared to Netflix in the world of video games, Xbox Game Pass offers users the ability to play as many games as they want for a monthly subscription fee. In addition to this, Game Pass also provides recommendations for games that its users might enjoy. These recommendations are generated by algorithms or manually curated by Xbox to fit around a specific theme or genre.
The Xbox Game Pass subreddit user, Beneficial_Food1010, was in for a surprise when they logged on to check out the latest offerings. A new category of games had appeared, titled “We Demand You See Our Legs.” The subheader description was simple yet straightforward - “Literally games that let you see your character’s legs.” This official storefront had created one of the oddest game classifications, with its deadpan humor. However, Game Pass was ready to cater to players who wanted to see their FPS character's legs.
The recommended titles in this category were entirely composed of FPS games that allowed players to see their character's legs when they looked down. The collection includes games like Battlefield 2042, Dishonored 1 and 2, and Doom Eternal.
FPS games often exclude the display of the main character's legs. This is commonly accepted within the industry because most players are unlikely to take notice if the character even has legs, since they are not frequently visible. Therefore, it may not always be necessary to include them.
Developing video games, regardless of their size, requires a significant investment of time, money, and effort from numerous individuals working together to ensure the game is completed within budget and on time. Therefore, if removing the legs of a character who is often not seen outside of the player's hands holding a weapon helps to accomplish this goal, then it is an acceptable sacrifice.
However, some gamers may be taken out of the immersive experience if an FPS character lacks legs. While not every FPS game on Game Pass may cater to this subset of players, Xbox has created a separate category of games that meet their needs.
