Microsoft has added three new games to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, including Cassette Beasts, which is one of the highest-rated new releases of 2023 so far. Although May 2023 was a mixed month for Xbox Game Pass, with some great games and some disappointing ones, there were still plenty of exciting titles for subscribers to enjoy.
Unfortunately, May got off to a rocky start with the release of Redfall, an Xbox console exclusive that received mostly negative reviews and suffered from a range of technical issues. As the first Arkane-developed game under the Xbox umbrella, Redfall's failure was a major setback for the Xbox brand. However, despite the disappointment of Redfall, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to a host of other games to keep them entertained.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers have just received a fresh batch of games to explore with the latest update. Included in this update are three new games, with Cassette Beasts being the standout title. Although previously released for PC and available through PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can now enjoy the console version of the game. Additionally, the update brings the underrated Massive Chalice from Double Fine and the day one release of Railway Empire 2. With so much to choose from, Cassette Beasts is definitely worth checking out first.
The new Xbox Game Pass games are now available to play.
Cassette Beasts (Consoles) Massive Chalice (Consoles/Cloud) Railway Empire 2 (Consoles/Cloud/PC)
Cassette Beasts has become a fan-favorite due to its Pokemon-inspired gameplay and similarities to The Legend of Zelda. With an overall rating of 86, it's one of 2023's highest-rated new game releases, making it a must-play for Xbox users. However, don't overlook Massive Chalice and Railway Empire 2, which have also been added to Xbox Game Pass. While Massive Chalice has received mixed reviews, it has a "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam and is enjoyed by strategy fans. Railway Empire 2, on the other hand, has mostly positive reviews but is more geared towards those who enjoy a train management simulator.
