Xbox Game Pass Unveils Epic New Day One Game for July 2023!

Xbox Game Pass expands its library with an exciting addition for July 2023! A highly anticipated Xbox port of a popular 2021 release is officially confirmed to join the subscription service, delighting gamers with instant access to this thrilling title

Annapurna Interactive has announced that the stunning first-person puzzle game, Maquette, will be available on Xbox Game Pass in July. The lineup for July's Xbox Game Pass releases is already impressive, featuring highly anticipated titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and the day-one release of Exoprimal. Adding to the strength of this lineup, Maquette will now be included in the subscription service, catering to the growing demand for narrative puzzle games on Xbox Game Pass.

Originally released in 2021 for PS4, PS5, and PC, Maquette is a unique first-person puzzle game that revolves around a captivating narrative. Players must manipulate the camera perspective and scale in order to progress through the game. Throughout their journey, they will discover insightful notes and engaging dialogue that provide important context, linking the puzzles to the relationship of the game's protagonists. While Maquette's reviews were average overall, it was highly praised for its visually impressive presentation and innovative concept. Earlier this year, Maquette also became available on the Nintendo Switch.

Developer Graceful Decay has now decided to release Maquette on Xbox, a platform it initially overlooked in favor of a day-one PS Plus launch. The Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions of Maquette will be available on July 19. In addition to this announcement, it has been confirmed that Maquette will also be accessible on Xbox Game Pass on the same day. It should be noted that this announcement specifically mentions Xbox Game Pass, with no mention of PC Game Pass at this time.

The inclusion of the puzzle game on Xbox Game Pass does not come as a major surprise. Annapurna had actually announced the Xbox release of Maquette for 2022, even stating that the game would be a part of Xbox Game Pass during winter 2022. However, winter came and went without the release of Maquette. It appears that the Xbox launch of Maquette was simply delayed rather than cancelled entirely. Waiting an additional six months is certainly preferable to not having the game at all.

Maquette marked the debut of indie studio Graceful Decay. The team has yet to reveal their next project, as they continue to work on expanding Maquette to other platforms. With the positive response Maquette received, anticipation is high for Graceful Decay's future endeavor.

In addition to Maquette's release on July 19, there are several exciting releases scheduled for Xbox Game Pass throughout the remainder of the month. Exoprimal will be available on July 14, followed by Techtonica and The Cave on July 18. The Wandering Village is set to release on July 20, with Venba closing out the month on July 31. It wouldn't be surprising if additional Xbox Game Pass releases for July are announced in the coming weeks.

Maquette is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch, and releases on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on July 19.
