Highlights

Red Dead Redemption 2 NPCs can have unexpected reactions, as shown in a hilarious clip of a player being attacked by a whole town after shooting a Gunsmith.

In the game, players have access to a diverse array of weapons, and Gunsmiths can be located in various parts of the expansive open world. Engaging in unlawful activities like attempting to rob or harm the Gunsmith will trigger a response from the local law enforcement and aggressive non-playable characters (NPCs). However, there is a possibility of reaping certain rewards depending on the player's chosen course of action.

A player of Red Dead Redemption 2 experienced an unexpected and humorous encounter when they shot a Gunsmith in the game. The whole town rallied together to avenge the NPC, demonstrating the characteristic reactions seen in Rockstar games. Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a wider range of weapons compared to its predecessor, including the double-action revolver, Lancaster repeater, and double-barrel shotgun. As a result, Gunsmiths can be found in various locations across the game's open world, such as Annesburg, Rhodes, Saint-Denis, and Valentine.

A Reddit user, Sus_dyingTheSecond, recently shared a video showcasing their daring robbery at the Valentine Gunsmith in Red Dead Redemption 2. In the video, the player shoots and kills the Gunsmith, instantly alerting the authorities despite there being no other NPCs present. Undeterred, the player swiftly takes the cash from the register and tries to make a quick escape. However, the entire town goes after the player, resulting in a chaotic shootout where Sus_dyingTheSecond meets a fatal end.

Having successfully fled the Valentine Gunsmith with $27 in hand, the player hops onto their trusty horse. Unfortunately, while attempting to avoid a collision with another horse, the player accidentally crashes into a carriage, causing their character to be sent flying. Suffering some damage from the fall, the player is then bombarded with bullets from all directions as the enraged town comes to aid the fallen Gunsmith. In a desperate attempt to escape, the player manages to eliminate the carriage driver, but is ultimately overwhelmed and killed by the armed Valentine population. Although the player eventually succumbs to their injuries, they were able to eliminate a few NPCs before being overrun.

Attempting to rob the Gunsmith in Red Dead Redemption 2 by keeping the Gunsmith at gunpoint or opting for a different action would have prompted a response from the local law enforcement. Even if the robbery had been successful, the NPCs may not have handed over all the money in the cash register. Alternatively, Sus_dyingTheSecond's chosen course of action may have been more profitable. Despite the tendency for nearby NPCs to intervene in violent scenarios, it remains unclear why so much of Valentine reacted aggressively towards Sus_dyingTheSecond. Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
