In Chapter 10 of Wild Strawberry, the story continues from the previous chapter, focusing on the aftermath of Mayu's death at the hands of the Jinka. Ayari, deeply affected by her best friend's demise, loses consciousness and awakens several days later in a hospital. The doctors inform her that the trauma has caused temporary memory loss.
Once Ayari recovers, she visits Mayu's grave, where she coincidentally encounters Mayu's father. He is leaving behind an Ema plaque with a message that reads, "May every Jinka be gone from the world." Eventually, Mayu's father reveals to Ayari that every year, his daughter had prayed for this same wish.
To make amends for Mayu, Ayari resolved to fulfill her desire by enlisting in the Flower Funeral Force. Currently, amidst battling the disorienting effects, Ayari bravely rose to confront the Jinka, only to be confronted by a mutated form of Mayu that reignited her apprehension.
