Why Bridgerton Season 3 Can't Afford to Miss Jonathan Bailey's Anthony!

Despite the audience's adoration for Anthony Bridgerton, the protagonist of Bridgerton season 2, it is not necessary for him to have a significant role in season 3. Bridgerton, a period romance series based on Julia Quinn's novels, revolves around the affluent Bridgerton family in Regency London. Each season focuses on the romance of a particular Bridgerton sibling and the accompanying chaos.

Released in March 2022, season 2 of Bridgerton centers around Anthony, the eldest sibling. Initially portrayed as a womanizer and a firm, controlling figure within his family, Anthony frequently clashed with his sister Daphne regarding love and responsibilities. During his own season, he falls in love with Kate Sharma, a clever and determined woman who has no desire to marry. As a result, Anthony's storyline has been sufficiently fulfilled and it is necessary for Bridgerton season 3 to let go of him in order to maintain one of its greatest strengths: ensemble work.

Although each season of Bridgerton centers around a specific sibling, the series effectively distributes screen time among its characters. Supporting characters such as Penelope, the Queen, Eloise, and Lady Danbury receive substantial development, even when they are not in the spotlight. These narrative segments often lay the foundation for future seasons by elevating a character's prominence before dedicating an entire season to them. Thus, Anthony has already had his fair share of importance as a supporting character and as the central focus for a full season, and now it is time to shift the focus onto Colin, Penelope, and other secondary characters.

How Anthony Can Still Appear In Bridgerton

Anthony's absence in Bridgerton season 3 is not necessarily required. Just like Daphne in season 2, he can make occasional appearances to provide guidance to his siblings and showcase the life of him and Simon's child. However, Anthony should not have his own major storyline but should rather remain an important part of the Bridgerton family. His presence can serve as inspiration and motivation, shining a spotlight on his new life with Kate when needed.

While some characters in Bridgerton have captured the hearts of audiences, it is crucial for the series to continue evolving with its diverse ensemble.
