Netflix has given fans a tantalizing sneak peek into the complex journey of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington while they eagerly await the release of Bridgerton season 3.

During the TUDUM event in São Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday, June 17, the network unveiled four exclusive photos from the upcoming episodes. These captivating images, introduced by Nicola Coughlan, showcase Penelope's transformed appearance. With her "new look," Penelope reveals softer, more romantic curls and a refreshed color palette. In anticipation of the new season, the 36-year-old actress hinted at Penelope's evolution, stating that she returns to London with a renewed determination and a quest for independence. "Is Penelope done with yellow dresses? This season promises scandal and excitement, and we are thrilled to have you join us on this captivating journey," she exclaimed.

Coughlan exclaimed, "As we kick off the new season, the ton returns from their countryside retreat and Penelope undergoes a stunning transformation. Things got even more complicated when Penelope’s best friend Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) discovered that she was actually Lady Whistledown.

Newton, 30, emphasized the intentional portrayal of various relationship dynamics in the sophomore season. He revealed that the gradual transition from friendship to romance depicted between Colin and Penelope was a deliberate choice to showcase a different kind of love story. Newton explained that while some relationships start off with intense passion, others evolve from a strong foundation of friendship over time.

The Netflix star expressed her admiration for the future connection between Colin and Penelope. She mentioned that while other characters and their love stories have developed quickly or had an instant spark, Colin and Penelope's relationship has taken a long time to progress. Even at its current stage, it is not considered a relationship. The star enjoys portraying this slow-burning connection.

According to Coughlan, Penelope would have to develop as a character before entering into a romantic relationship. The actress expressed that Penelope idolizes him and sees him as flawless, so she needs to start viewing him as a real person rather than an idealized figure. Coughlan believes that for any possibility of a relationship between them, the dynamics between them need to change and become more equal.

The showrunner of season 3, Jess Brownell, expressed excitement about focusing on the central couple, Colin and Penelope. Brownell believes that viewers have already formed a connection with these characters since Season 1, making it the ideal time to explore their relationship further. Rather than keeping the dynamic between them stagnant, the goal is to push the boundaries and delve into the tension that exists, particularly with Colin's almost realization of Penelope's feelings for him.
