Whitney Cummings is celebrating the arrival of her first child, a son. "3-D printed a human," Cummings, 41, posted on Instagram with a photo on Sunday, December 17. "Enjoy me never having brushed hair again." The photo shows Cummings cradling her baby boy, with only his tiny hand visible on her chest.
The comedian welcomed her baby into the world six months after revealing her pregnancy in June. "In these photos, I am pregnant. And there's a baby inside me too," Cummings shared on Instagram along with pictures of her enjoying time in the pool with her dog. "Human pup arriving in December."
Cummings reassured her fans that her comedy tour dates in 2023 are still on, joking that she "just may fall over a couple times." In the photos, she proudly displayed her baby bump in a tied-up tank top, wearing grey shorts and playing with her dog with her hair pulled back in a ponytail.
In the same month, Cummings posted a sonogram photo on social media and requested assistance in selecting a name for her soon-to-be-born son.
"This is my favorite picture of my baby's face thus far. Breaking news: it's a boy," she announced on Instagram on June 27th. "Assist me in naming this little one. How about Rusty? Dusty? Bill?"
Cummings chose not to disclose her child's father's identity at the time, but she had previously discussed her relationship with Alex Barnes, her last known public partner, in August 2021.
She shared about their less-than-ideal first encounter during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan in 2021, recounting a story about fostering a dog that attacked one of her own dogs during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to an urgent trip to the veterinarian.
During the coronavirus lockdown, it was difficult for Cummings to find a veterinarian to meet with. Barnes eventually came to her aid, and their relationship became more serious. Cummings even joked during a fall 2021 stand-up event that she was considering proposing to him herself.
Despite being somewhat private about her love life, Cummings was vocal about freezing her eggs ahead of her pregnancy.
