Whoopi Goldberg has made it clear she is sensitive about her feet.
On the January 9 episode of The View, EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg, 68, abruptly left the set after starting a discussion about foot fetishes. She introduced the segment by mentioning an anonymous man's letter to The Guardian's advice column about feet.
“She used to love when he gave her foot massages, until he confessed he had a foot fetish. Now, she won’t let him touch her feet,” she explained. “He doesn’t understand why she pulled away as soon as he mentioned that foot massages also turned him on.”
Goldberg then inquired if a foot fetish would be a "dealbreaker" for her cohosts. All of her colleagues quickly shared their thoughts, but Goldberg remained silent.
Alyssa Farah Griffin was enthusiastic about the idea, saying, "I wish my husband had a foot fetish and wanted to give foot rubs. It seems like a great problem to have." Sunny Hostin also agreed, suggesting that the couple from the advice column would theoretically be a great match. "Isn’t it great that he has a fetish? If you love foot massages and happen to be married to a guy with a foot fetish who wants to give massages, it's like the perfect marriage," she noted.
While the women discussed the issue, Goldberg stayed silent. When Griffin said, "You have to be open to your partner's kink, to a certain extent," Goldberg got up and left.
"Sorry, keep the conversation going while I take care of something," the Sister Act star said as she briefly left the stage to hand a card to someone off-camera.
Griffin, 34, quipped, “Whoopi has left the building.”
Joy Behar then explained why she didn’t weigh in on the subject.
Behar, 81, confidently claimed, "My feet have actually sparked some foot fetishes, so I guess I've had an impact." Meanwhile, Goldberg showed her disinterest by placing her hands over her face when she returned to her seat.
"Why did you leave?" Behar asked, to which Goldberg promptly responded, "I was so captivated by what you were saying that I felt the need to step away and compose myself before returning to the conversation! So, I took a brief break to gather myself and then came back!" she joked.
Behar joked, "This is the effect my feet have on people." However, Goldberg did not take the bait, responding, "This conversation is what causes people to get up and move."
Goldberg also admitted that she is not very interested in feet due to her own large feet. "I don't care because my feet are huge, and no one wants to touch them," she explained.
The hosts of The View debated whether it was appropriate to ask guests to remove their shoes when visiting your home in February 2022, with feet being a hot topic of discussion. Goldberg expressed her disagreement with the idea of demanding that guests take off their shoes.

Goldberg emphasized that it is not acceptable to dictate your behavior when invited to someone's home. Behar then added, "Not everyone has as beautiful feet as I do," as she showed her bare foot on the table. Hostin and cohost Sara Haines also proudly displayed their feet.
