West Ham United have had a second bid rejected by Ajax for midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

West Ham remain interested and will discuss whether to go back in with an improved offer.

According to We News, Kudus is receptive to the transfer to the London Stadium. Despite Ajax's reluctance to sell, Kudus has featured in both Eredivisie matches for the Dutch club this season, impressively scoring in the first game and contributing an assist in the second.

Ghanaian international Kudus, who represented his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, has entered the last two years of his contract. In the meantime, West Ham has initiated discussions with Sevilla regarding the acquisition of striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

There is no formal bid yet for the Morocco international, who has entered the final two years of his contract.

Mavropanos completes West Ham move

West Ham have finalized the signing of Konstantinos Mavropanos, the Greek defender.

After his stint at Arsenal, the centre-back has made the switch to the London Stadium from Stuttgart. The initial agreement is valued at £17m, with an additional £2m included as add-ons.

Mavropanos was at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon to watch West Ham's 3-1 win over Chelsea.

Man City's £80m Paqueta deal completely off

Manchester City's potential £80m acquisition of Lucas Paqueta from West Ham has been cancelled due to an ongoing FA investigation into the midfielder's alleged betting violations. Last week, the two clubs had reached a preliminary agreement regarding the transfer, but on Wednesday, West Ham was notified of the FA's probe into the Brazil international.

On Friday morning, there was a slim possibility that the transfer could proceed, but now it is completely unlikely. Those familiar with the deal remain hopeful that Paqueta's transfer to City might occur in January.

As part of their investigation, the FA plans to interview the 25-year-old, who maintains his innocence.

The investigation commenced after an abnormal influx of bets was placed in Brazil concerning Paqueta being booked with a yellow card during West Ham's match against Aston Villa on 12 March 2023. Referee Chris Kavanagh issued Paqueta a yellow card in the 70th minute of the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw, due to a challenge on John McGinn.
