West Ham United are nearing a deal with Ajax for the acquisition of midfielder Mohammed Kudus. The proposed agreement entails an initial fee of €41.5m (£35.4m), along with €3m (£2.56m) in additional payments contingent on performance.
Personal terms over what is expected to be a five-year deal are not thought to be a problem. West Ham will have the option for a further 12 months if the deal goes through.

West Ham have had two bids rejected by Ajax for Mohammed Kudus
News has learned that Kudus is receptive to the idea of transferring to the London Stadium.
Despite West Ham's two offers for the midfielder, Ajax remains hesitant to sell Kudus. So far this season, Kudus has played in both Eredivisie matches for the Dutch club, scoring in the first game and assisting in the second.
Kudus, a Ghana national who represented his country in the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar, is now in the last two years of his contract.
In the meantime, West Ham has initiated discussions with Sevilla regarding the potential acquisition of striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
There is no formal bid yet for the Morocco international, who has entered the final two years of his contract.
Mavropanos completes West Ham move
West Ham have finalized the signing of Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Moving from Stuttgart to the London Stadium, the former Arsenal centre-back has secured a deal worth £17m initially, with an additional £2m in potential add-ons.
Mavropanos was at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon to watch West Ham's 3-1 win over Chelsea.
Man City's £80m Paqueta deal completely off
Manchester City's attempt to sign Lucas Paqueta from West Ham for £80m has been cancelled due to an ongoing FA investigation into the midfielder's alleged betting violations.
Last Friday morning, there was a slim possibility that the transfer could proceed. However, it is now clear that it will not be happening. Sources involved in the deal remain optimistic that Paqueta's move to City could take place in January.
The FA is set to interview the 25-year-old as part of their investigation, and he maintains his innocence.
The investigation commenced after an unusually high volume of bets were placed in Brazil on Paqueta receiving a yellow card during West Ham's home game against Aston Villa in March last year.
Referee Chris Kavanagh cautioned Paqueta in the 70th minute of the 1-1 draw for a challenge on John McGinn.
