Susie Evans stands firm, stating she never doubted Clayton Echard's integrity amidst a paternity lawsuit Find out how Bachelor Nation's Susie remains unwavering in her belief of Clayton's honesty

Susie Evans openly shared her thoughts on the public paternity situation involving her ex, Clayton Echard. Speaking on the November 21 episode of "The Viall Files" podcast, the 30-year-old stated, "I heard Clayton's side of the story during that time. One thing I can say about Clayton is that he is truthful. He may not be perfect, but honesty has never been a question when it comes to him and his interactions with me as a person."

30-year-old Echard made headlines in September when an unnamed woman claimed that he was the father of her unborn twins after a one-night stand. Echard denied having sexual intercourse with the woman and claimed that a paternity test confirmed he was not the father in the following month.

"When he told me his side of the story early on, I was really upset," Evans remembered. "Because I thought, 'This is crazy, this is absolutely insane, and justice needs to be served.'"

Echard's claims were refuted by an anonymous woman in a statement to We in October, stating that he was "lying" about the results. She further stated in court documents filed on August 1 that she had "engaged in sexual activity" with Echard on May 20 and had not been with anyone since March of 2022. In response, Echard claimed the case was "groundless and lacking in merit" in court documents and requested to be awarded attorney fees.

Echard and Evans crossed paths on season 26 of The Bachelor. Despite initially declining his final rose during the March 2022 finale, the couple reconciled after filming, only to part ways in September 2022. Echard later disclosed that their breakup was influenced by the mental health challenges they faced as a result of the show.

"On certain days, I struggled to get out of bed. My lack of motivation caused my days to start at 11:00 am. I expressed this feeling exclusively to Us in February, stating, "I had no desire to get out and do anything because I felt like I had no drive to live life." I remember a moment when we just looked at each other and realized that we needed to heal separately because we couldn't continue like this. I felt completely broken and drained of energy to keep fighting. It was a very sorrowful place to be in."
