Highlights

Pokemon GO players are unhappy with the Routes limitation and lack of communication from Niantic, negatively affecting their experience.

The limitation of creating only five Routes within a 30-day period in the Routes feature has faced criticism for its potential hindrance to community growth and the acquisition of rewards and Zygarde Cells. Bugs and issues associated with Routes have discouraged players from exploring, and an official notice from Niantic could alleviate some of these frustrations.

Pokemon GO players are dissatisfied with the current limitations and lack of communication surrounding the Routes feature by Niantic, the developer. This feature enables players to create and share their own paths, but its restrictions have negatively impacted the community's experience.

Routes in Pokemon GO were introduced during the Blaze New Trails event in July. Players were encouraged to create their own Routes or explore those created by other users in order to earn rewards like Hyper Potions, XP, Stardust, and Ultra Balls. Additionally, by exploring Routes, players could collect Zygarde Cells, which allowed them to transform the Legendary Pokemon Zygarde into a new form. However, the launch of Routes was marred by numerous bugs and issues, and the gradual release of the feature resulted in many players being unable to obtain enough Zygarde Cells.

The Routes feature in Pokemon GO continues to receive heavy criticism from the community. This is mainly due to the limitation that only allows for the creation of five Routes within a 30-day period. Niantic Support recently responded to a concerned Pokemon GO fan on Twitter, acknowledging this limitation and stating that it may be changed in the future as the feature is evaluated. However, players are frustrated with this official response as the game itself does not clearly mention this restriction. Furthermore, some players are still unable to create their first Route in the game.

Pokemon GO fans on Twitter, including user BossDokins, believe that the Routes limitation and the lack of availability of this feature are hindering the growth of the game's community. This is evident as some players are unable to locate Routes in their local areas and nearby cities, thus missing out on valuable rewards and Zygarde Cells that these locations provide.

Pokemon GO players continue to struggle with gathering Zygarde Cells, leading some to criticize Niantic for the implementation of Routes. Rather than promoting exploration, Routes have discouraged players due to various issues. It remains to be seen if Niantic will address these problems through bug fixes and an official notice about their plans for the feature, which could ease the frustrations of the community.

In addition, the Poliwag July 2023 Community Day event faced its own challenges, including a 50% reduction in trading costs. This recurring issue in past Community Day events raises concerns about Niantic's ability to ensure future events run smoothly without any bugs or problems related to in-game bonuses.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS.
