Since its announcement in 2022, Assassin's Creed Mirage has been marketed as a return to the franchise's roots. It departs from the massive open worlds of the previous three titles and instead focuses on a more concentrated narrative centered around the assassin Basim Ibn Ishaq. With a similar vibe to the first Assassin's Creed game and a greater emphasis on assassinations rather than RPG elements, the game has generated significant interest and is considered a major release.
Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been a tremendous financial success for the company. The publisher revealed that it is the top-selling launch for Ubisoft, specifically on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. In addition, some impressive statistics were shared during the game's first week. Players have collectively spent an astonishing 479 years performing parkour on the rooftops of the game's city, executed 60 million Leaps of Faith, and interacted with street cats 1.2 million times.
Considering the game's triumph, one might expect Ubisoft to release more downloadable content (DLC). However, aside from a few minor DLCs currently available, no major expansions are anticipated for Mirage. Instead, Ubisoft has exciting plans for an iPhone 15 Pro port of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This will mark the first time that a main entry in the series is being adapted for mobile platforms and is likely to be met with great success, continuing the game's popularity in this new medium.

In addition to the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Infinity, which will serve as a central hub for accessing different titles in the franchise, there are four other projects in development. Nexus VR will be the franchise's first foray into virtual reality, while Red and Jade are codenames for projects set in Japan and China respectively, each with their own unique storylines. However, the most intriguing project is Assassin's Creed Hexe, which remains shrouded in mystery but is speculated to revolve around witches and be set in Europe.
