Samuel L. Jackson's wedding gift to Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson continues to captivate fans even years after their separation.
"In an interview with Vulture, published on Thursday, July 20, Jackson, 74, revealed that his unique wedding present to the couple was a beehive. This was a thoughtful gesture considering Scarlett's fondness for nature."
Jackson, who has acted alongside Johansson in multiple films such as The Spirit (2008) and The Avengers (2012), reminisced about the time before their wedding in 2008 when he organized for his assistant to purchase 10 pounds of bees. He went the extra mile by providing bee suits for them, and as a result, they were able to keep bees and enjoy their honey for a few years during their marriage. Jackson shared this amusing anecdote while discussing his recent collaboration with Reynolds in Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021).

Regrettably, the fleeting nature of their unique gift became apparent. "At some point, the bees deserted the hive or the queen or something," Jackson recounted.
Beginning in 2007, Reynolds and Johansson commenced their romantic relationship, culminating in an engagement announcement the next May. In September 2008, they solemnized their union at a secluded retreat in the wilderness.
In December 2010, we were the first to report that Reynolds and Johansson had ended their relationship. The couple, who were no longer together, released a joint statement announcing their decision to end their marriage. They expressed their mutual respect and love for each other, emphasizing that they had entered their relationship with love and would part ways with love and kindness. Although they understood that privacy might not be expected, they requested and appreciated it.
By the summer of 2011, Reynolds had already found new love with Blake Lively, while Johansson had started dating Sean Penn. Although Johansson and Penn ended their relationship in June 2011, Reynolds and Lively took their relationship to the next level and got married in 2012.
The Green Lantern co-stars have had four children together. In 2014, 2016, and 2019, Lively gave birth to their three daughters named James, Inez, and Betty. In February, the couple announced the arrival of their fourth child, although the name and birthdate remain undisclosed.
On the other hand, Johansson married for the second time in October 2014 to Romain Dauriac, shortly after the couple welcomed their daughter, Rose, in August of the same year. In January 2017, it was confirmed that Johansson and Dauriac, aged 41, were getting a divorce.

The Black Widow actress found love again with Colin Jost, whom she married in October 2020. Their son, Cosmo, was born in August 2021.
In a rare comment earlier this year, Johansson referred to her first husband as "a good guy" during an April appearance on the "Goop" podcast.
