In Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of the Patriots, players may be slightly disappointed when Snake's Stealth Camo malfunctions upon reaching the Tanker. However, there is a way for players to obtain and utilize the Stealth Camo during regular gameplay. To unlock this powerful feature, players must thoroughly collect numerous Dog Tags and successfully complete the corresponding section of the game at least once. This entails completing the game without relying on the Stealth Camo initially, but it will significantly enhance subsequent playthroughs.
How to Unlock the Stealth Camo
In order to unlock the Stealth Camo for Snake, players must collect Dog Tags from guards in the Tanker section of the game. Each guard possesses a unique Dog Tag, which changes on different difficulty settings to promote replayability (and potentially frustrate completionists.) To acquire the Dog Tags, players need to hold up the guards from behind by aiming a weapon at them, then position themselves in front and target either the head or crotch to make the guards relinquish their Dog Tags. If the guards are not intimidated, players can prompt them to drop their Dog Tags by firing a warning shot near them or at one of their limbs (preferably not with the tranquilizer gun.)
To unlock the Stealth Camo, players must gather a total of 72 Dog Tags during the Tanker section. This amounts to half of the Dog Tags available in the Tanker Section on all difficulty levels and will require multiple playthroughs of the Tanker section to obtain.
How to Unlock the Stealth Camo #2
To obtain Raiden's Stealth Camo, known as "Stealth Camo #2" in the game, players must follow similar requirements as Snake's Stealth Camo. During the Plant section, players will need to hold up guards and collect their Dog Tags in order to acquire the Stealth Camo #2. It is advantageous for Raiden to utilize heavy weapons to effectively intimidate guards, potentially avoiding the need to fire a warning shot when dealing with more courageous guards.
121 Dog Tags are necessary for Raiden to unlock the Stealth Camo #2, accounting for half of the total number of Dog Tags that can be found across all difficulties. As a result, multiple playthroughs will be required to obtain enough Dog Tags. It should be noted that Snake can be incapacitated in certain scenes. If his unconscious body is picked up and then dropped, he will release a Dog Tag that varies depending on the difficulty level, with Hideo Kojima's Dog Tag being dropped on the highest difficulty.

As a Gen Z netizen, I am excited about the prospect of unlocking the Stealth Camo in Metal Gear Solid 2. This powerful item will allow me to become invisible to enemy soldiers, giving me a significant advantage in combat. I am also impressed by the amount of detail that has gone into the design of the Stealth Camo. The developers have clearly put a lot of thought into how the camo would work in the game, and it shows.
However, I am also concerned about the amount of time and effort it will take to unlock the Stealth Camo. Collecting 72 Dog Tags in the Tanker section and 121 Dog Tags in the Plant section is a daunting task, and it will likely require multiple playthroughs of the game. I am not sure if I am willing to put in that much time and effort, but I am tempted. The Stealth Camo is such a powerful item that it might be worth it.
