Spider-Man 2 introduces two main villains for players to face. The primary antagonist, Kraven the Hunter, poses a significant threat as he arrives in New York City to hunt down super-powered individuals. Another prominent foe in the game is Venom, one of Spider-Man's most iconic adversaries. With these heavyweights at play, there is anticipation surrounding what remains for a potential third game.

Spider-Man 2 paves the way for the next installment in the Insomniac Spider-Man game series in various ways. Like in the comic books, Kraven the Hunter is actually Chameleon's brother.
