Unveiling the Mind-Blowing Twist in Manifest's Season 4 Finale

Manifest's Lifeboat: An Unyielding Test & Unveiling the Death Date's Futility

The passengers of Flight 828 in the Manifest series finale come to realize that saving the Lifeboat was an unattainable goal from the start. Throughout the entire Netflix series, the concept of the Lifeboat has been a central focus, representing the passengers' ultimate challenge. Each individual on the flight has been intricately connected, as if trapped together in a symbolic lifeboat until the very end.

The passengers of Manifest season 3 were well aware of the existence of the Lifeboat. With the combined efforts of Kory, Pete, and the other passengers, they managed to overcome the challenges set by God and seemingly cheat death. However, their triumph was short-lived as Jace's mistakes led to their downfall. Jace, who disappeared alongside them, was also part of the same test, thus forcing them to share in the consequences of his failure. This turn of events was not only a significant turning point but also instilled fear in the passengers, as it made them realize that they too were subject to the same rules. It became evident that the Lifeboat's fate could be jeopardized by the actions of a single individual.

The Passengers Couldn’t Keep The Lifeboat From Sinking

Despite their efforts to save the Lifeboat, they were unable to keep it afloat. In the finale of the Manifest series, 11 characters faced their deaths on the Death Date, which was the outcome they had hoped to avoid. As they met their demise, the Lifeboat sank, leading to the appearance of a Grim Reaper-like spirit that had previously killed Kory and Pete in season 3. The spirit approached the passengers as well, but Ben and Michaela's screams somehow drove it away. They reminded the spirit of all the lives that each passenger had saved.

In the end, the passengers managed to survive, not because they were able to save the Lifeboat as originally planned. Unfortunately, the plan fell apart when Angelina, Randall, Paul, Autumn, and seven other passengers were reduced to ashes. It seemed as if some higher power, be it God or another divine force, agreed with Ben and Michaela's argument that the passengers had already done enough and did not deserve to die. If this intervention had not taken place, the deaths of these 11 passengers in Manifest would have spelled doom for everyone.

Knowing How To Stop The Death Date Wouldn’t Have Helped

Manifest being forced to break the rules of the Lifeboat to allow the characters to survive demonstrates the immense challenge season 3 posed for them. The characters were convinced that maintaining order among all the passengers was an unattainable feat, and it ultimately proved to be true. Even if they had deciphered the enigma of the Death Date left by Al-Zuras in his journal prior to the finale, they would still have fallen short.

Ben and Michaela faced an impossible task in Manifest - they couldn't have convinced everyone to follow their lead. The passengers were a diverse group, with both good and bad individuals, and the concept of free will meant that some people would inevitably choose not to do the right thing.
