What's Coming In The Quantum Leap Season 2 Premiere?
Melissa Roxburgh is set to join the cast of Quantum Leap season 2, which premieres on NBC on October 4. Known for her role as Michaela Stone on Manifest, Roxburgh will make a guest appearance in the season 2 premiere. TVLine reports that she will be joining Francois Arnaud, Aaron Abrams, and P.J. Byrne, who will also be featured in the same episode.
During the San Diego Comic-Con panel, Roxburgh's casting for the show was announced. Accompanying the announcement was a sneak peek of the first eight minutes of season 2. The footage revealed that the lead character, Ben (portrayed by Raymond Lee), didn't make it back home as anticipated in the season 1 finale of Quantum Leap. Instead, he finds himself inhabiting the body of a man named Perez, on a plane flying over Russia in 1978. With no means of communication with his team, Ben must face this new leap on his own.
Perez's team, portrayed by Roxburgh, Arnaud, Abrams, and Byrne, are Air Force members embarking on a covert mission to transport an enigmatic crate to New Delhi. Unfortunately, their plane is targeted and shot down by missiles, foiling their plans. Despite the imminent danger, Roxburgh's character courageously safeguards the crate before the plane explodes. This gripping opening scene also places Ben's life in jeopardy. Roxburgh, who previously encountered airplane drama in her role on Manifest, brings an added level of excitement to the return of Quantum Leap. This casting choice may also serve as a subtle acknowledgment to viewers who are still recovering from the conclusion of Netflix's beloved supernatural series.
